From an eco-friendly propane powered trolley system to a commitment to making West Palm Beach more walkable. Those are just two examples of West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio's ongoing push towards advancing the livability of the city. They are also just two reasons Mayor Muoio has been chosen as the 2016 Woman of the Year by the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS).
Each year, WTS recognizes members, women, and employers who embody the WTS pursuit of transportation excellence through the achievement and success of women.
"Our South Florida Chapter has seen firsthand not only the exemplary work you are doing in trying to transform our urban transportation system into a safer, more multimodal one, but also your overall positive leadership in creating vibrant, livable communities," said WTS South Florida Chapter President Jessica Josselyn.
WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Boasting more than 6,500 members--both women and men--WTS is helping women find opportunity and recognition in the transportation industry.
