The following information is intended for City of West Palm Beach employees.
General public hurricane information can be found under the public advisories
UPDATED THURSDAY OCTOBER 6, 4:00 P.M.
CITY CLOSURES:
City of West Palm Beach government offices will be closed through Friday. All employees responsible for post-storm damage assessment should be ready to deploy when instructed.
REPORTING FOR WORK:
All city employees are considered essential. During an emergency, all employees are required to be available to work.
CITY HEALTH CLINIC:
The city health clinic will remain closed until Monday.
GAS UP CITY VEHICLES:
Prepare for the worst: Conserve fuel as much as possible until we can confirm additional fuel will be available.
CITY EMPLOYEE CHILDCARE:
In the event of an extended state of emergency following the storm, the city will activate “Camp ‘Cane” to provide care for the children of working city employees.
If activated, “Camp ‘Cane” will be for children kindergarten through 8th grade.
Employees may drop off their children for care ONLY DURING THE HOURS THEY ARE WORKING.
Stay tuned for more details if “Camp ‘Cane” is activated.
CITY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER:
The city Emergency Operations Center is fully activated.
NO NEW WORK ORDERS:
Since we are in hurricane preparedness mode and to ease the departments’ loads, please refrain from submitting work orders to any department unless absolutely necessary.
SUPERVISOR PHONE TREES:
Supervisors need to update and distribute phone tree information for all of your employees and should accommodate employee needs to handle personal hurricane affairs. Please make sure you take care of your home and families.
CITY VEHICLE PARKING:
General city vehicles less than 7 feet tall should park in the Clematis Parking Garage on the West interior wall if possible. Levels 2 through 4 are the most protected.
City vehicles parking in the City Center Garage should park on the 2nd floor up. City vehicles parking in the Police Garage should park on the east wall excluding the 2nd floor marked NO Parking During Hurricane Emergency. This area is reserved for police.
Sanitation vehicles may park in the Okeechobee Lot.

UPDATED TUESDAY OCTOBER 4, 8:00 P.M.
CITY CLOSURES:
City of West Palm Beach government offices will be closing at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and will remain closed Thursday. Employees should ensure their supervisor has up-to-date contact information.
The decision whether to resume normal operations on Friday will be made during the day Thursday. The decision will be posted here.
REPORTING FOR WORK:
All city employees are considered essential. During an emergency, all employees are required to be available to work.
CITY HEALTH CLINIC:
The city health clinic will remain open until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. If you need any prescriptions filled, you must visit the clinic before it closes.
GAS UP CITY VEHICLES:
Make sure that all city vehicles are filled up ASAP.
