STAY OUT OF THE STORM:

DO NOT go out in the storm. Do not venture outside to snap pictures for social media. Stay off the roads. Stay away from any downed power lines.

POWER OUTAGES:

STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED POWER LINES. To report a power outage, call FPL at 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243)

MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDERS:

Palm Beach County has issued a MANDATORY evacuation order covering portions of West Palm Beach.

The portions covered by the order are roughly defined as Flagler Court near the Intracoastal, The east side of Flagler Drive between Greenwood Drive and Monceaux Road, and all areas east of Olive Avenue from Datura Street to South Lakeside Court. CHECK THE COUNTY MAP FOR EXACT LOCATIONS.

EVACUATIONS & SHELTERS:

All evacuation and shelter information comes from Palm Beach County. The city does not operate shelters or issue evacuation orders.

Forest Hill High School is the county shelter in West Palm Beach. There is a chance that residents may be turned away from Forest Hill High School. We urge you to call 561-712-6400 BEFORE HEADING TO THE HIGH SCHOOL to confirm they are still accepting new residents.

CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH HOTLINE:

The number to call for any CITY-SPECIFIC issues is: 561-822-2222. THIS IS NOT FOR EMERGENCIES. This number is only for questions related to city services (trash collection, drinking water, storm water flooding, city government office hours, etc) Questions related to shelters and evacuation orders need to be directed to the Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center at: 561-712-6400.

CITY OFFICES CLOSED:

City of West Palm Beach government offices will remain closed at least until Monday.

RUMOR CONTROL:

Following the storm, the city WILL NOT provide ice, water or any other hurricane supplies to the public. If required, the County may activate their own distribution centers AFTER THE STORM. There are distribution locations in the City of West Palm Beach. Monitor city social media for updates.

TRASH PICK-UP:

Trash pick-up IS SUSPENDED THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. Make sure there are no items left outside. ITEMS LEFT ON THE STREETS CREATE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISKS.

BRIDGES:

All bridges across the Intracoastal are locked down. This means cars can cross them, but they will not open for boat traffic.

PUT AWAY OUTDOOR ITEMS:

Make sure all unsecured outdoor items (grills, plants, etc.) are moved to a safe place.

CLEAR YOUR STORM DRAINS:

The number one cause of street flooding is clogged storm drains. City crews are no longer checking storm drains. YOU must make sure the storm drains on your street remain clear of debris. FLOODING IS MADE WORSE WHEN STORM DRAINS ARE CLOGGED.

SECURE ALL WORK SITES:

All construction and work sites in the city MUST BE SECURED. All construction materials must be tied down or removed.

CITY PARKING GARAGES CLOSED:

During the storm, NO PUBLIC PARKING is permitted in city garages (with the exception of permits).

CLEMATIS BY NIGHT:

This week's Clematis by Night is cancelled.

GREEN MARKET:

This weekend's Green Market has been cancelled.

GRASSY WATERS EVERGLADES PRESERVE:

Grassy Waters Everglades Preserve is closed to the public and will remain closed until normal city operations resume.

SAVE 9-1-1 FOR AN EMERGENCY:

Please call 9-1-1 only in an emergency. Please be aware that emergency response will be affected during the height of the storm.

Trash pick up will be on a regular schedule Wednesday. Pick-up decisions for Thursday and Friday have not been made at this time.

YOU SHOULD NOT BE PUTTING ANY EXTRA DEBRIS, TRASH OR YARD WASTE OUT AT THIS TIME.

DO NOT TRIM YOUR TREES.

DO NOT PUT OUT ANYTHING FOR PICK UP UNLESS YOU HAVE CONFIRMED IT WILL BE PICKED UP. ITEMS PLACED ON THE STREETS AND LEFT UNCOLLECTED CREATE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISKS.
