FRIDAY & SATURDAY CURFEW FOR MINORS STARTS AT 10:00PM
You may not realize it, but on any regular weekend, there's always a downtown curfew for minors that kicks in at 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights. But a few times during the year, the city changes the hours.
This weekend is one of those times.
For the Friday and Saturday nights over Labor Day weekend (September 2nd, and 3rd), the curfew for minors is being pushed up an hour to 10:00pm, making the new hours from 10:00pm until 6:00am the next morning.
The city says it is adding an hour to the minor curfew because of the large number of people expected to visit downtown over the holiday weekend.
The curfew applies to anyone under the age of eighteen. There are some exceptions, including minors who are with parents, guardians or another adult authorized by a parent or guardian, and minors who are working or heading to work.
The change only applies to Labor Day weekend. The following weekend the curfew returns to 11:00pm.
