Effort part of Mayor Jeri Muoio's plan to attract business investment
New York has Wall Street. Miami has Brickell. West Palm Beach has the Flagler Financial District.
Over the past decade, downtown West Palm Beach has become a South Florida hub for the financial sector. A combination of pro-business policies and proximity to one of the wealthiest epicenters in the world has attracted firms of all types.
Now the city is moving forward with efforts to ensure the rest of the world knows what is already here.
Mayor Jeri Muoio, during her 2014 State of the City Address announced the designation of a section of downtown West Palm Beach as the Flagler Financial District.
The district runs from Rosemary Avenue to Flagler Drive, Okeechobee Boulevard to 7th Street.
The city will soon be marking key portions of the District with banners and eventually plaques on key office buildings. It's all part a "place-making" effort to enhance awareness of the district, and use it as a business attraction tool for future investment and relocation.
