Some brand new trucks will be rolling through your neighborhood beginning Monday.
Starting next week, all recycling in the city of West Palm Beach will now be picked up by a company called Waste Pro. While the company is new, your pick up schedule will stay exactly the same.
Along with the new company and new trucks comes some new technology as well.
Over the next few weeks, the truck drivers will be putting a sticker on your blue bin. The sticker is an electronic tag that will allow the city to know how much recycling is being picked up by the company.
It's a way to ensure the city can track the company's pick-ups, and increase accountability. It also will help our Sustainability Department know if some parts of the city are better recyclers than others. This will help them know where to focus their recycling education efforts in the future.
Again, your pick up days won't change. And you keep the bins you have.
