As the summer months approach, the police department has increased the number of officers focused on the Broadway corridor in the city's north end.

News of the increased patrols came in response to a question from West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio who asked what the police department was doing to respond to crime in the north end.

The new shifts are during the twilight hours during the week, and a split shift on the weekends. The main focus is along Broadway from approximately 30th street to the city limits.

Officers will work on identifying people along Broadway, making increased contacts with businesses in the area, and keeping an eye on the public parks in the area.
