To improve and celebrate the importance of its neighborhoods the Northend Coalition of Neighborhoods (NCON) and the nine neighborhoods of greater Northwood will celebrate the first annual ‘Northwood Day’ on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
The morning will begin at 10 a.m. and focus on the clean-up of Northwood area parks including Brian H. Chappell, Gettler, Osprey, Fogelman, Sullivan, Currie, Blum as well as two community butterfly parks. At Noon participants will gather at Currie Park for lunch featuring area food trucks as well as displays from the West Palm Beach Fire and Police Departments.
“This is a great opportunity to improve and inspire our neighborhoods while creating a sense of community spirit,” said NCON Chair Cathleen Ward. Native butterfly plants will also be planted at Gettler, Brian H. Chappell and Fogelman parks through a $1,000 mini-grant funded by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. as a part of the Great American Clean Up initiative.
