She's back! City of West Palm Beach Commissioner Sylvia Moffett has been re-elected by voters.
Moffett has been a member of the Commission since 2011.
As District 1 Commissioner, Sylvia Moffett currently serves as President of the Commission. She additionally serves by appointment to the Tourist Development Council, the Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches, the Homeless Advisory Board, the Children’s Cabinet, the County’s Re-Entry Task Force, the Superintendent’s Education Task Force and the Criminal Justice Advisory Council.
Prior to her election as commissioner, Sylvia Moffett played an active role in her neighborhood, serving as secretary and as president of the Old Northwood Steering Committee, editing the Old Northwood Newsletter, and representing Old Northwood to the North End Coalition of Neighborhoods.
Educated at the Maryland Institute, College of Art and at Wesleyan University, Sylvia Moffett has worked in education as an art teacher and program coordinator. She lives in West Palm Beach with John, her husband of 33 years, and is the mother of two children.
